Check Your Host’s Page Rank
I used to run a little blog on freewordpress.com (my URL was google.freewordpress.com), but now the freewordpress.com webmaster has let his domain-name registration lapse. The registrar says, "Notice: This domain name expired on 03/25/07 and is pending renewal or deletion."
I looked up the freewordpress.com Page Rank. It is PR2, which is not much above zero. So I guess the guy who set up the free blogging service was not particulary serious about furthering the enterprise.
We should probably check a host's Page Rank and WHOIS before signing up for service.
I mean if you were going out to a fancy restaurant or a nightclub such as the Envy Club in San Diego, you would probably check out their popularity and ratings. Why? Because you want to spend money on a good experience. The www.discoversd.com website says that the Envy Club is a new nightclub/dance hall scheduled to open this summer, 2007. It is located in an upscale downtown hotel.
