Zenaps.com and ruleithosting.co.uk
Back in February 2006, I received a free hosting account from Zenaps.com, but they soon sold to Ruleithosting.co.uk, who went ahead and maintained the domain Zenaps.com and my free website Host.zenaps.com, but often without supporting my cPanel access (I had ftp, and that's all). Then a week or two ago, they took Zenaps.com offline and my website Host.zenaps.com duly vanished. This whole "process" (so to speak) is quite often typical of free hosting plans and free hosts, and that is why you should always insist that they host your own domain (or subdomain -- you can get one at Afraid.org) because that way you can just transfer your domain to another free host without losing pagerank on the search engines (plus all the links to your site are still operable).
My previous URL http://host.zenaps.com had a Google pagerank of 4, but unfortunately I trusted that the names host.zenaps.com and zenaps.com would not go permanently offline.
